During the visit, the Commissioner had the opportunity to meet with businesses, Christmas shoppers and residents to hear their concerns about crime and safety in the area.
The Commissioner was also able to see first-hand the work that officers are doing to address local issues and keep the community safe.
Speaking afterwards, Police and Crime Commissioner Andrew Snowden said:
“It is important for me to see the challenges and opportunities facing local policing, and to hear directly from the people who are most affected by crime and safety issues in the area.
“Since being elected I have been out and about with officers across the county, as part of my belief that good, neighbourhood policing needs to be at the heart of the community it serves.
“As I continue to lead the fight against crime, I remain committed to backing the Chief Constable with the support and resources he needs to go after offenders, protect the public and ensure residents, here in Garstang and across the county, feel safer.”
