During the visit, the Commissioner and MP met with officers to hear about the challenges facing residents across the constituency, including the illegal use of e-scooters, anti-social behaviour and shoplifting. Discussions also focused on the importance of neighbourhood policing in addressing local concerns and building stronger relationships between police and the communities they serve.

Speaking after the visit, Commissioner Grunshaw said:

“Through discussions today in Lancaster, it’s clear to see how well local officers know the communities they serve. Their strong relationships with local people and understanding of the issues affecting the area are exactly what neighbourhood policing is all about.

“While there is always more work to do, it was encouraging to hear about the proactive work officers are carrying out every day to tackle local concerns and keep communities safe.

“As Police and Crime Commissioner, I will continue to champion strong neighbourhood policing and remain committed to ensuring Lancashire residents feel safe, supported and heard.”

“Neighbourhood policing matters because local people deserve to see officers out in their communities, listening to their concerns and taking action on the issues that affect their daily lives.
