Funding using seized cash to support community safety priorities across Lancashire

The new grant fund, which opened for applications today, 2nd June, supports local partnerships working together to reduce crime, anti-social behaviour and community harm.

CSP’s, which are local place-based collaborations between various partners, play a vital role in identifying and addressing local concerns, whilst delivering solutions to problems identified in their own areas.

This funding, which sees cash seized from criminals invested back into Lancashire, enables CSPs to develop innovative projects for preventing crime, improving public confidence and delivering on the priorities in the Commissioner’s Police and Crime Plan.

Clive Grunshaw, Police and Crime Commissioner for Lancashire said:

“We know that by investing into community organisations that know their areas and who can evidence how projects can make our streets safer, we can tackle crime and prevent a range of different offending from happening in the first place.

“By working with Community Safety Partnerships, who understand local concerns and work with their local policing teams already, we can deliver the most effective, value for money investment into keeping people safe.

“It is also another way we can utilise cash taken from offenders, using it to empower communities and build public confidence.

“As Commissioner I will always look for new ways to respond to what the public and our officers are experiencing in communities, and deliver the priorities in my police and crime plan.”

The CSP Fund will remain open until March 2026, dependent on availability of funding.
