Commissioner Grunshaw joined Andrew Snowden MP and local officers in Kirkham, walking on the beat in the heart of the local community.
They discussed concerns being raised by constituents in Fylde, from anti-social behaviour and road safety, to the damage done through burglary and theft, such as shoplifting.
Commissioner Grunshaw emphasised his ongoing commitment to enhancing neighbourhood policing by increasing the visibility of officers on the streets and within the communities they serve, aiming to reduce crime and improve public trust.
Clive Grunshaw, Lancashire’s Police and Crime Commissioner said:
“It has been really useful to meet with Andrew and the members of the local policing team, discussing the concerns that are being raised by residents here in Kirkham and across Fylde.
“The issues being brought up with officers who are working around the clock to protect people in Fylde, and correspondence coming into their local MP, reflect much of what I am told on a daily basis, with the public expecting a strong, proactive police presence to protect all of our communities.
“We discussed how these are being tackled, including Op Centurion dealing with anti-social behaviour, and Op Vulture leading a robust response to shoplifting.
“As Police and Crime Commissioner, I will continue to back the Chief Constable with the resources needed make sure the public can be confident officers will be there when they need them. I am continuing to develop my Police and Crime Plan and represent all people across the county to ensure that, through strong leadership, we deliver the effective policing service we all want to see.”
