The Ribble Valley MP and Commissioner Grunshaw talked about concerns being raised by constituents, including burglary and anti-social behaviour.
The walkaround in the centre of Bamber Bridge also saw the Commissioner and MP hear what the local policing team were doing to tackle these concerns, and how local intelligence is seeing action being taken against offenders.
Particular issues raised recently included a recent fatal hit and run and the importance of road policing, alongside the issue of e-bikes and the dangers being posed.
Lancashire’s Police and Crime Commissioner Clive Grunshaw stated:
“It is an important part of my role to engage with key stakeholders and listen to the key issues being raised by the public.
“It’s been great to be out in Bamber Bridge, all sharing the clear goal to make Lancashire as safe as possible and prevent crime. While there is always room for improvement, it’s heartening to hear about the proactive efforts of the local inspector and neighbourhood team in tackling issues such as anti-social behaviour and shoplifting.
“We’re seeing some great work by neighbourhood officers who are addressing local concerns across the large Ribble Valley Constituency. The feedback from the local Inspector was overwhelmingly positive regarding the police’s efforts to address issues like anti-social behaviour and shoplifting, although there is still work to be done.”
“As Lancashire’s Police and Crime Commissioner, I will continue to collaborate with the Chief Constable to promote positive engagement between the police and the public, ensuring the safety of Lancashire residents.”
Maya Ellis MP said:
“I was pleased that Police and Crime Commissioner Clive Grunshaw could join me to discuss local policing here in Bamber Bridge and across my Constituency. I highlighted the key issues being raised with me by residents across the Ribble Valley, including violence against women and girls, burglary, serious violence and anti-social behaviour, and how we can work together to tackle crime and keep people safe.
“I’m looking forward to working with our local policing teams and the Commissioner in the coming weeks and months to ensure that the people of Bamber Bridge and everyone I represent, receive the best possible policing service.”
