The Commissioner provides funding towards tackling crime and reoffending across Lancashire, which is one of the key priorities in his Police and Crime Plan for the county.
Funding is split across four local Reducing Reoffending Boards overseen by a newly appointed Independent Chair. The Boards will consider applications for schemes that seek to work with offenders in their areas and help reintegrate them back into the community.
Organisations who provide support to previous offenders can apply for funding of up to £20,000 for projects or initiatives which meet one at least one of the key aims of the reducing reoffending strategy.
A prevention based approach to crime reduction initiatives, working with partners with a focus on early action, is a key element to delivering this work. The Commissioner’s Reducing Reoffending Fund will provide grants to schemes that aim to support previous offenders and work to prevent and reduce offending behaviour among them. Demonstrating a trauma informed approach is also an important part of how applications will be reviewed.
The reducing reoffending fund opened to new applications and will close at 12pm Monday 2nd December 2019.
