Reducing Reoffending Fund

The Commissioner provides funding towards tackling crime and reoffending across Lancashire, which is one of the key priorities in his Police and Crime Plan for the county.

A total fund of £200,000 is split across four local Reducing Reoffending Boards overseen by a newly appointed Independent Chair. The Boards will consider applications for schemes that seek to work with offenders in their areas and help reintegrate them back into the community.

Organisations who provide support to previous offenders can apply for funding of up to £20,000 for projects or initiatives which meet one at least one of the key aims of the reducing reoffending strategy. If projects combine multiple areas of work and show clear partnership elements, bids of up to £30,000 will be considered.

A prevention based approach to crime reduction initiatives, working with partners with a focus on early action, is a key element to delivering this work. The Commissioner’s Reducing Reoffending Fund will provide grants to schemes that aim to support previous offenders and work to prevent and reduce offending behaviour among them.

The Commissioner’s Reducing Reoffending Fund is currently open for applications, with the application window open until 17:00 on 02 July 2018.
