The Stop and Search Scrutiny Panel has been established to consider the way that Lancashire Constabulary use stop and search to ensure it is being used in an appropriate manner. The Panel provides independent oversight to enable the Police and Crime Commissioner to hold the Chief Constable to account. The panel considers individual cases to assess and scrutinise stop and search and identify areas of concern and good practice.
Members of the panel include an independent chair, and representatives from members of the public. Representatives attend from the Constabulary and the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner.
