Willmott Dixon – West Divisional Police Headquarters
Around half of the money invested through the build of the new West Division Headquarters in Mereside, Blackpool, during the over £24m project has been spent within a 20 mile radius of the site, with over £6.3m spent within Lancashire postcodes.
It also saw the creation of apprenticeships and job roles for local people whilst the use of local contractors and supply chains were utilised wherever possible.
Craig Veevers – Hay and haulage for mounted division
The supply of the hay and haylage for the horses at Lancashire Constabulary is done by a local farmer, who operates only a handful of miles away from their base. This has ensured a low carbon footprint which is good for the environment in terms of deliveries and also means investment into local businesses and people, whilst also being the most cost effective.
